Nightlife lovers from all over Mexico and abroad come to Puerto Vallarta to party. This exciting port city offers them the chance to dance and find romance, as well as the excitement of hitting one hot spot after another to see and be seen. Others may simply delight in walking the promenade and enjoying the city's festive ambience.
Lounge, pop, mariachi, salsa, jazz and dance are just a few of the rhythms you'll hear around every corner in places where the music is just as varied as the décor and the style of those who frequent them. Be sure and visit Morelos Street in the Central Zone, where cowboys dressed in blue jeans at a cantina bar are just as common a sight as visitors dressed in designer clothes at the sophisticated lounges of the port.
You might mistakenly think that all of the city's nightlife is concentrated in the Central or Romantic zones, but that's not the case. Night owls will also find plenty of action in the North Hotel Zone and in Marina Vallarta.
In addition, most hotels put on exciting nighttime shows and themed parties on the shore, by their swimming pools, and in their nightclubs.
Beer and tequila are the drinks of choice here, although many restaurants boast excellent wine cellars offering an ample selection of wines from around the world. One thing's for sure: You shouldn't leave Puerto Vallarta without trying raicilla, an alcoholic beverage produced locally using a distillation process similar to that of tequila.
Before long, you'll be cheering along with everyone else: Viva la fiesta in Puerto Vallarta!
